Originally Toronto’s first zoo, Riverdale Farm is a small working farm in the heart of the city in Cabbagetown.
They have almost 8 acres with barns full of horses, chickens, cows, goats, and sheep. There are scenic pathways to explore, butterfly, vegetable, and flower gardens to see, and “farmers” to chat with.
If your party is happening during the summer months, there is a splash pad in the park adjacent to the farm as well as a large park.
Admission is free year-round (9 am–5 pm); picnic sites, fieldhouse, and other facilities available at adjacent Riverdale West Park (permit line: 416-392-8188).
1 – 8 years
Recommended to keep small numbers if seeing the animals.
This is a City of Toronto facility so they do not offer packages but you can rent the space. They have an indoor event space in the meeting house that can be used in the winter months. It has a kitchen and a sunroom filled with farm animal inspired toys.
